Mr Pat is correct in his summary. Non-CA FFL's do have to fill out some paperwork as a one-time initial set-up to ship into CA. I beleive that the is a simple filing of the CA-receiving FFL's information after that, its really not that difficult a process and unfortunately many gun sellers choose not to sell to CA on that basis. Definately too bad for us Californians for access to additional firearms, and too bad for the non-CA sellers as the have a large customer base essentially withheld from them.

Our 10 day waiting period certainly sucks, but that will never change, and our prohibition from being able to purchase guns while we're out of state is also limiting on us and general commerce. When most Californians travel out of state to hunt, or simply to enjoy shooting activities, we generally carry 2 firearms...cause if one breaks, we can't replace it. This really sucks.

Worse than this is our tax system, being a CA CPA, I can go on and on about this one...but I won't. And even worse than our tax sytem, is our elected officials are mostly anti-gun, anti-hunting, from our US senators & congressmen, down to our state legistators. In fact, at this very moment, there is a bill on our Governor's desk which dictates that any sale of, I believe handgun ammunition only, must be made in person, at a registered location, with proof of identity, and a thumbprint stamp taken. Further restrictions are placed upon the retail establishment as well. The US congress rejected a very similar provision about 20 years ago, deeming it as un-enforceable without a finanicial hardship on trade, and that it would have a limited effect on crimes commited with handguns.

All that, and yet CA wants to implement the same bill. If Arnie doesn't veto this bill, it becomes law. This is the part that's especially BS for Californians. While the state cannot take our firearms away, they are likely to take any measure possibe to make it difficult for us to enjoy them.

Sorry for the long rant, but I get passionate about certain things....

Well said Johnnie. Did you find out if the Cow Palace bill passed or not?
CA is a great place to live, politics aside, we just have so many people and such a little space that are resources get used quicker than in a place that is not so population dense. Truly I wish I had an answer as to how to solve CA financial issues, its just going to take time before CA recovers so we will have to suffer a bit more.

Well, Arnie did sign AB 962. But I don't think that is the only reason why people are stockpiling ammo. Hopefully AB 373 will get passed.

It's no longer a question if you have an IQ greater than 36. Kalifornistan is nothing more than a tribe of shit-for-brains liberal imbeciles. They want to secede from the United States, be a low life sanctuary asylum, ignore the citizens of this Country, neglect our Heroes the Veterans, allow every dirtbag "immigrant" in to rape and murder our Citizens and bleed tax paying Americans for their socialist ignorant policies and shit all over the true Americans of this Country.

I say let them secede. Break them off at the Nevada border, float their worthless asses out into the Pacific and use them for Naval and Air Force practice until they sink into the abyss of stupidity that they represent. I would dance in the streets for that!!!!!!!!!

Kalifornistan can kiss my steaming heap of feces.

Let's see if this post stands. I'm mark81253, an AMERICAN, and I approve this message.

Got a kick out of your post, Mark. You make me smile, but Calif is a bit more complicated than EVERYONE being a sidewalk crapper. If I stayed there, I'd been 5th generation Kalifornian. My line of work was impossible to find there, so I moved on, but during the 70's when I left there, you could see how things were becoming very "wrong". I won't say where I was exactly raised, for my own good, but it was within a "few miles" of Bakersfield. I used to walk through the small mountain valley town with my 22 to hunt ground squirrels, and nobody batted an eye. Try that today. I say beginning about WWII, total weirdo's moved in to in various ways support the war industry and to hang on the guvmint tit. Then the politicians became wackadoodle, and so it became what it is today. My mom is still alive, in her late 90's, and it pains me to drive into Kalifornistan to visit her. I hit the border west of Vegas, and just shake my head. But there's still some good people there, but many have moved out. I was raised around some of the best Valley Quail and black tail deer hunting in the country. Now, where I hunted is all houses, tumbleweeds, or charred and burned out woods. My thoughts are as simplified as yours, but the place just sucks in weirdo's, and the politicians are generally the worst of anywhere. I can't figure out how they get the votes, except in places like San Francisco and L.A. Pretty darn clear why Wby moved out of the State. I once wanted to buried at a short list of VA cemeteries at Kalif. Not now. I don't want some weirdo crapping on my headstone...
