    Default The Monster Cabinet

One of my Son's has asked for a gun cabinet for the longest time, so I took on the task last May. After the better part of 5 months, albeit with some time taken off for hot weather, this monster is finally finished, just lacking glass and/or plexiglass in the doors.

This beast began life as a couple 28" diameter pine logs lying next to my TimberKing 1020 Saw Mill next to my woodshop. We sliced them up with the TimberKing and stacked in the barn for drying. Probably let them dry for a year or so and they were down to a stabilized 8+- % moisture. Many hours in the shop working on this unit. It's actually a plan I found online which I modified from a 6 gun cabinet to a 13 gun cabinet.

The only thing I did not do for this monster is fell the tree, although I could have done that with my trusty Stihl 044 Chainsaw buddy of the last 26 years which still runs like a champ on the factory supplied spark plug.

It will be headed to Oklahoma in a couple weeks to safely house the 6 Weatherby's I have already bestowed to my Son. And a few other lesser deserving gun makes which I won't mention.
