    Default Weatherby Drilling?

Does anyone know the history on the Weatherby drillings? I've had one for a long time and I'm thinking about selling it.

Alright, I've waited long enough for someone to respond to this to no avail. So, I'm gonna put my stupidity on full display here. What the loving hell is a drilling? In over decades upon decades of learning new terms I'm not too proud to learn another. Somebody help me out here.

    Sincerely, Mark the Moron.

    Mark,

A drilling is a 2 or 3 barreled long gun, where the barrels are of different gauge or caliber. Other they are a shotgun & rifle. Mainly a European thing. I have never heard of a Weatherby drilling.

    Hope that helps

Well, a Drilling has 3 barrels. Most common config is two shotgun barrels and one rifle barrel. Odd ones can have two different rifle calibers and one shotgun barrel. Very popular on Red Stag hunting where you use the 12-20 gauge for short range, and the rifle barrel on longer range. Another benefit is the soldering of the rifle barrel. It will be stiff, and it's quite common to give excellent accuracy as long as the barrel is cold.
