Rob - With an empty chamber, my Mark V 338-378 does the same thing. But with an empty case in the chamber, there's no play in the bolt handle. The sleeve behind the bold can rotate slightly but...

Looks great. Thanks for the pics. Curious - why did you choose that particular cartridge? Dave
  7. Re: Shooting past 300 yards.... Windage adjustments are a must?

Jeff - Both my 378s do the recoil jump thing. Shooting from a bench, how would you stop it/minimize the recoil jump? Thanks Dave

Understand. Good luck on your hunts. Will be looking for pics when your back. Dave
  9. Re: Shooting past 300 yards.... Windage adjustments are a must?

I understand frustration when it comes to dialing in a rifle. I'd hate messing with that savage, shooting as well as it does. But have you considered swapping scopes between these two rifles? Just a...
  10. Re: Shooting past 300 yards.... Windage adjustments are a must?

Crooked table - If it provides a stable platform, adjusting the bipod to level the shot works for me. Checking the level between shots is a good idea too. Rarely are the benches at the ranges I shoot...

No way mate. Your post is totally cool. Looking forward to more pixs of target practice and game taken. Dave

Nice looking rig. I use Leupold PRWs and a Near rail to hold a Zeiss 6x20x50 on a 30-378 (no break). Rings, rail and scope - solid.

    Re: Bolt Stuck

Sorry for the dumb question in advance - Is the bolt in contact with the scope base? Consider removing the scope and base. It's got to come off any way if it's headed to the smith.

    A Little Group

Tweaking the seating depth of an already proven load (210gr VLD over 98grs H1000), 0.10" off the lands produced this three shot group @ 100 yrds. The aim point was the black ink scribble.
