Re: Is this a Weatherby Europa?

I notice it has very dark grip cap and forend tip, with no white line spacers. If those are ebony, you may have a Euromark. It certainly looks at first glance like one.

    Re: 30/06 twist rate

I'd guess 1:10, but the easy way to tell is a tight fitting patch on a jag, and measure the distance the cleaning rod has to go to get a single rotation.

    Re: 375 Weatherby build

You should just be able to have that barrel rechambered, as the 375Wby is an improved 375H&H, in a manner of speaking.

    Re: 375 Weatherby build

There isn't any difference in action length between the 375 and 378, but the bolt face will be too large for the 375, since the 378 is larger. Youd need a new bolt if you went that route.

    Better...

Re: 300 weatherby magnum, Help please!

You can check the mating with some talcum powder on the scope rings. Look for even contact, obviously. I've had Talley rings need nothing, and I've seen them need some mild lapping. Lapping kits are...

  9. Re: Vanguard getting a longer barrel and the Accubrake...

Yes, and I'm thrilled to see the longer barrel show up in the magnums. I may have to save up for a 7mmRemMag with a 26" tube. That should be good for close to 3100fps from 160gr bullets, if not just...

My standing rule if I have two together and one flyer is to try shortening COL in .010" increments. Most, though not all of the time, I can tighten the flyer significantly or entirely.
