I welcome this "sizzler" of a cartridge but at the same time I don't want to sound negative with this fast mover.
The 6.5/284 is a fast shooter which is well known to chew through barrels in around 1000 rounds.
I am just wondering what sort of short barrel life one could expect with a much faster 6.5 calibre cartridge.

Well, I have checked with my Barrel life calculator. (Downloads/Exe Files/BLC.exe)
I will update the powder list asap I have the latest datafiles for QuickLOAD.
Using 80grs of Norma MRP 2 says 657 rounds. Using H870 we are down to 600 rounds.
The program is for benchrest precision, but maybe 700-800 round could be a good guess...

I hope your calcs were based on single based powders; if you use double base powders you will shorten barrel life even quicker.
I used RE25 (double based) powder in my 30-378 for maximum velocity and the barrel was gone shortly after 700 rounds.

You can use all powders listed in QL. RE-25 says 675 rounds or so.
Just for fun, give me your load in 30-378, and I will test what my software says.

This is what my Accumark in 30-378 produced
    3250fps with 102 grains of RE25 behind a 210 grain Berger VLD

It will be interesting to compare my results against the program

My software says 768 rounds. Quite close I think.
