Thread: Gordons Reloading Tool (QuickLOAD competitor)

  1. Default Gordons Reloading Tool (QuickLOAD competitor)

Yes, there is a new software in town for the reloader. It's a tool quite similar to QuickLOAD and seems to be delivering the same results as well. I have just checked the program for a day or so, so do not trust my results. Both Windows and Linux version are offered for download.

The program is FREEWARE and is full og different options as well.

Interesting tool, but a very limited number of US-available powders. Norma and Vit (if you can find it) are here, but not the other 3.
If he expands the powder selection it will be come more useful.

Well, that's the beauty of the program. It has import functions from data files in QL.
So if you have the datafiles just import them into the program and you are good to go. If not, PM me...

No, I don't have QL, so no datafiles.

    Got it.

Where can we input actual chrono muzzle velocity to help adjust the data?
I've been looking, but it's not easy to find.

    Thanks.

The "problem" with QL and GRT is that adjustments for primers, freebore and so on is not present in the software. The solution is adjustment of start pressure value, to compensate for the missing parameters.
But, before doing so, the biggest error source is the H2O volume of your case. So, check it and update the value into the software before adjustments of values.
In 340 Wby the start pressure is set to 3626 psi. I use to adjust the start pressure up or down so it gives the same mv as the chrono results.
Once done, it will be compatible for developing loads using the same bullet and other powders in the same caliber.
